The Bright Pink Room

This week my sister and I had Clinic Appointments.  (For those who don't know that's where the doctors check up on us and make sure we're healthy and adjust our diet to fit our changing needs.)
They recently opened up a 2nd location that we (people in our area) can go to, and it was much closer to us.
So we went to this new place.  And the visit was actually pretty good.  For the first time they split my sister and me into different rooms (in the past we had been together.  For moral support).  But this time we were split.  At first I was really nervous.  I was all alone in this hospital room... sitting in a bright pink room.  And there were all these forms I had to fill out... by myself... for the first time.

Like I said, I was nervous.

The doctor (who was the same doctor that had been at the old place) came in and examined me.  We did the usual tests: holding the cold stethoscope against your back and chest and making you breath in and out, hand-eye coordination tests, reflex tests.  Then she asked me some questions, we talked about things.  It all lasted about an hour... maybe a little less than that.

After the doctor was the dietician (still the same person as at the old place).  I handed her my week's diet record.  We talked about eating habits, and formula habits.  That only lasted 1/2 hour.

Then I was done.  I was surprised with how smooth things had gone.  My sister was done the same time I was and we went to get our blood tests done.

The lady who did our blood tests was AMAZING!!!  I've had a LOT of blood tests done over the years, and with her I could hardly feel a thing!

Within 2 hours, we were done.  It actually was the shortest doctor's visit I've had in a while.  We've had visits that last around 4 hours before!!!  So that was good, and short.  Just the way I like them. :)

Don't get me wrong I appreciate my doctors and all they do.  I like being healthy.  But you can only sit in a bright pink room for so long.  :)

Again thanks for reading!  I love looking at my stats and seeing how many people are actually reading what I'm writing.  It feels like I'm actually making a difference.  :)

  1. Now that I am an adult my clinic appts are very short. Mosty just meet with the nurse and the dietican and we only see the doctor if we request it. I have seen my doctor 2 times in like 8 years. My clinic appts are no longer than 30 mins sometimes shorter depending on how many questions ihave. I prefered them when they where longer, now they seem like a waste of time. as a youth we met with the doctor, the nurse, the dietican, the social worker, and a psycologist. Seemed a much better approach. Glad your visit went well.

    1. Yeah, even though this new place is closer it's still 1/2 hour from my house. So the trip there would be longer than the appointment. I can see where that could be a waste of time. And thanks!
